THE 21 DAY FLAT BELLY DIET

For women over 40, belly fat is incredibly stealth and incredibly stubborn. The Plan focuses on monounsaturated fats, which you get from olive oil, nuts, and other plant foods.  You eat 400 calories per mean, four times per day for a daily total of 1600 calories. You don't go longer than 4 hours without eating and you eat monounsaturated fats at every meal.

Foods to avoid:
-Processed foods
-Foods that can make you gassy, like beans, broccoli and onions
-Carbs like pasta, bananas, and bagels

You must also dring 2 liters of water mixed with ginger root, cucumber, lemon and mint leaves, which the book calls "sassy water."

After that, you eat a Mediterranean-style diet for 4 weeks with 1600 calories per day.

One thing that I really liked? You do not have to exercise although they do recommend a "flat belly" workout program.

Flat Belly conforms to the Federal Government's 2019 Dietary Guidelines. The plan emphasizes healthy choices such as fruits and vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds and lean protein. You will need to pay attention to get adequate potassium and vitamin D, however.

Overall, this book changed the way I think about food forever. I went on the 21 day challenge and lost almost 10 lbs and 6 inches around my middle. There is definitely a science to the combination of foods we eat! As a result, I feel absolutely great!
